Creating with Intention
To Create…with intention.
Many years ago I began my writing blog To Create… Little did I know the journey I would walk in the following years. I discovered writing back then and it led me to a realization of my inner workings. My soul. That question that tickles everyone’s brain at one time or other. Who am I?
I knew I was a creator. From the earliest times of my life I can remember making things. Ridiculous things. People-shaking-their-head-at things.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that a glowing screen popped up on my iPhone with a red thread connection that led me to painting. I am basically a self taught painter. With the exception of a course in intentional creativity, I fell head first onto my palette on my own. Which led me to some other courses with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and SITE Santa Fe. And I find myself here today once more attempting to define myself.
Who am I?
I am stubborn. But I also don't want to make mistakes and that leads me to following rules and being tight, boxed in, and then rebelling. Usually not for the best of outcomes.
But I do understand intention. I do understand and yearn for ceremony and deep connection to Spirit. I do understand that creating is key.
Any chef, mother or father of a child, teacher, doctor, or any wordsmith will tell you that a full life is a combination of creation with intention. When we mix the two, we are no longer the ego, but we open ourselves as a vessel through which beauty flows. And this beauty heals the world. The trick is to set ego aside and to make space for the Divine.
I believe that listening is key. Quiet space to hear and trust. To ask ego to take a nap and let what comes, come.
I am not sure if this explains who I am. Or creating with intention. But this is where I sit at this moment in time. In the time of COVID. In the time of isolation. In the time of wanting to make a difference and connect and make things just.
And what I do is this….
I am.
Teacher.
I am a certified Color of Woman: Intentional Creativity Teacher. I lead circles, workshops, and communities inspired by my own Soul Work coupled with Intentional Creativity.
At the heart of my work is an integration of my personal path with my life work. This is my SOUL WORK.
Color of Women walk between two worlds seeking the FORM through which we can live a life where all aspects of ourselves get to be included, celebrated and we create abundance in all fields!
I offer Intentional Creativity workshops to all - truly everyone is welcome.
I guide you in joyful discovery of your inner self through Red Thread circles, journeys, ritual, ceremony, and creativity.
No experience is required.
We move in a safe and gentle, compassionate and yet powerful sacred space to create art and discover the beautiful mysteries of ourselves.
Circle Guide.
There is a Chinese legend that says that those who are supposed to meet are connected by an invisible red thread since before birth. It can stretch and tangle, but it won’t break.
The Red Thread Circle creates a powerful context for transformation, connection, education, deep listening, and relevancy. The Red Thread connects our bloodlines and ancestry. It is a symbol that is neither masculine nor feminine that somehow connects all of us.
In all of my work - writing, painting, workshops, Intentional Creativity - it all begins with a Red Thread circle to connect, to inquire, to release, to discover. It is a physical way to see our connection and know the power of being connected.
As a certified Red Thread guide I lead circles for any event. In classrooms, children discover. In memorial services, loved ones are remembered. In celebrations, we are held up in joy and honored.
This circle is a way of being in the web of life. I offer it as my Soul Work to the world hoping to ease the pain of loneliness and honoring the beauty of one’s soul.
